Are you
an experienced Food Technology Teacher or an ambitious practitioner ready to step into a Lead role on a supply basis?

GSL Education are seeking a confident and skilled Food Technology Lead or Teacher to join a secondary setting in Hackney on a temporary or long-term supply contract starting ASAP.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who can deliver high-quality practical and theory lessons, maintain strong classroom management, and support student progress. The ability to teach up to Key Stage 4 is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons up to Key Stage 4
  • Prepare students for GCSE assessments, both practical and written components
  • Organise and manage practical cooking lessons safely and effectively
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in line with school policies
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
  • Support curriculum planning and resource development
  • Maintain and manage equipment, ingredients and stock control where required
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are consistently followed
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Food Technology up to Key Stage 4 (essential)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
