Heart Butte Public Schools is recruiting certified teachers to join our very progressive and successful staff.  We have 200+ students enrolled K-12 and that number is growing every year.  We are located on the Blackfeet Reservation in North central Montana and border Glacier National Park to the West.

We are looking for teachers that believe in teaching the whole child and are compassionate and willing to incorporate new strategies to help our students succeed. One who isn’t afraid to explore our culture and build relationships with our students and the community.  

Heart Butte schools is proud to be the only school in Montana to move all 3 schools out of the bottom 5% in student achievement and we are only getting better as the years go on.  We have accomplished this in one year and have done so by utilizing our very strong framework that we developed as a team.  That framework consists of 4 areas:  Instruction, Safety, Culture and Self Identity and Health and Well Being.

We have improved our graduation rate from 62% to 93% in 2 years.

We are developing a very strong counseling program to help our students who have experienced trauma or are just dealing with being young people.  So far it is very successful and it shows in our students’ academic success.

Our school year is 167 days (same pay as 187 days) with the school year ending May 10th.  This schedule allows us to have more time in the summer for credit recovery, interventions and enhancement as well as cultural activities.  We also offer teacher housing at a very reasonable cost and you may qualify for loan repayment through the quality educator loan assistance program offered in our school by OPI.
