Gear Up Coordinator
Position:
Gear Up Coordinator (one position) Type:
Gear Up Program (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduates), professional/technical 1 FTE (210-day contract) position for AY.
Duties:
Administers, manages, and supervises all aspects of the Browning GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) programs located at Browning Middle and High Schools and William Buffalo Hide Academy that encourage disadvantaged young people to pursue high goals, remain in school and complete coursework suitable for college acceptance. Responsible for coordinating and implementing early college preparation and awareness activities to provide students with comprehensive mentoring, counseling, outreach, and other supportive services.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education, social/behavioral sciences, or related field; three (3) years experience working in above field(s); valid MT driver license, familiarity or association with community and culture of the Blackfeet Tribe, good communication, problem-solving and organizational skills, proficient with desktop computers. Preferred:
Masters' Degree, as well as knowledge of the theories, concepts, and practices of education, social/behavioral science and counseling, program administration/coordination, and K-12 and post-secondary academics. See Gear Up Coordinator Job Description for additional requirements and preferences.
