Open until filledSUMMARYFVCC seeks a part-time Clinical Skills adjunct instructor for Medical Assisting in Libby, MT, beginning fall semester 2026. The position is responsible for providing high-quality, hands-on instruction to students in the clinical skills required for entry-level medical assisting practice. This role involves teaching, demonstrating, and assessing competencies in a lab and clinical environment while ensuring students meet professional, ethical, and safety standards.
Teaching assignments may include alternative delivery methods and day, and/or evening classes ESSENTIAL DUTIES Instruct and supervise students in clinical skills, including but not limited to Vital signs measurement (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature)
Patient preparation and positioning
Phlebotomy and specimen collection
Basic clinical procedures and infection control
Medical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) use Evaluate and document student performance in clinical skill competencies materials in accordance with program curriculum and MAERB accreditation standards.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to students in achieving course and program objectives.
Maintain a safe, professional, and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with program faculty and staff to ensure curriculum alignment, accreditation compliance, and student success.
Stay current with trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements in medical assisting and clinical education.
Conveys knowledge of the subject area in an effective manner for successful student learning outcomes.
Fosters positive student and community relations.
Maintains and submits instructional records in accordance with requirements.
Integrates subject area with other related curricula.
Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
Works professionally with college faculty and staff to aid with the educational process.
Remains current in practices, trends and research related to areas of assignment.
Attends meetings and participates in student and/or program assessment as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports to Director of Trades Institute MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum qualifications for instructors in career and technical disciplines:
Three years’ experience in the occupation to be taught; ORThree years of post-secondary education in the career and technical discipline, combined with work experience in the career and technical discipline.
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, CCMA) credential or registered Nurse (RN) preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
Understanding of MAERB Standards and ability to support compliance with accreditation requirements.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to demonstrate clinical procedures safely and accurately.
Knowledge of current healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and patient safety practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of the medical assisting profession, including current clinical practices, professional standards, medical terminology, and applicable regulations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior teaching or clinical instruction experiences preferred.
Experience using online learning management systems.
Experience in differentiated instruction for diverse student populations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES The Adjunct Clinical Skills Medical Assistant Instructor position requires:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while instructing and monitoring students in the classroom and clinical skills lab.
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to demonstrate medical procedures, operate lab equipment, and use instructional technology.
Capability to lift, move, or carry instructional materials, supplies, or training mannequins weighing up to 50 lbs.
Frequent reaching, bending, and positioning when demonstrating or assisting with clinical procedures.
Adequate visual acuity and hearing ability to observe student performance, respond to questions, and monitor classroom/lab safety
Strong verbal communication skills to deliver clear instruction in both individual and group settings.
Sufficient physical stamina to sustain teaching activities, demonstrations, and lab supervision over several hours.
Ability to effectively and safely teach content and technical material
Effective organizational and leadership skills;
Working knowledge of use of technology in a learning environment
Ability and willingness to serve as a representative for the College by interacting appropriately with the community and students
