Director of Workforce Operations
The Director of Workforce Operations provides operational leadership and oversight for workforce training programs within the Continuing Education and Training Department. This position is responsible for the administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of workforce programs, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality student experiences, regulatory compliance, accurate data management, and sustainable program delivery.
The Director oversees workforce training initiatives including CDL, Grid Operator Training, Flooring Installation, Boiler Training, non-credit Early Childhood Education and Child Development Associate (CDA) programs, Fingerprinting Services, SNAPE&T initiatives, and other workforce training offerings. The position supervises workforce program staff, supports instructors, manages program logistics, oversees student information system (SIS) tracking and reporting, monitors enrollment and performance analytics, and ensures operational processes align with institutional goals and workforce training standards.
Working closely with the Executive Director of Career & Technical Education, the Director serves as the primary internal operational leader for workforce programs, supporting program sustainability, student success, data-informed decision-making, and organizational effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities include leading workforce program operations, supervising staff and coordinating programs, overseeing compliance reporting and data management, overseeing student service and enrollment, and driving operational strategy and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Public Administration, or a related field, minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development, continuing education, training administration, program management, or related fields, experience supervising employees, instructors, or program staff, and experience with budget management and financial planning. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Business, Public Administration, Education, or a related field, experience managing workforce grants and grant-funded positions, familiarity with workforce funding programs such as SNAPE&T, apprenticeships, and workforce training initiatives, experience working in higher education or community-based workforce training environments, and advanced strategic, budgeting, innovation, and complex problem-solving abilities.
