Job Overview
Rocky Boy School District is searching for a dynamic, energetic teacher to fill an opening within our primary grades as a Sixth Grade Teacher for the 2019-20 school year. Class size is anticipated at 19-23 students with two teachers assigned at this grade level. This is a self-contained position for the core areas, with students attending classes with other certified teachers for PE, Music, Art, and Cree Language.
Teachers are supported by ample professional development opportunities. We hire candidates who are highly motivated, team players to plan, implement, and instruct an interactive elementary curriculum focused on academic excellence. Candidates must possess and exhibit proficiency in technology (computers/tablets, iPads, Smart Boards, digital hardware & media, interactive applications, Infinite Campus grade books, software, etc.).
- Teach the sixth grade curriculum covering core academic areas.
- Plan, implement, and deliver an interactive elementary curriculum focused on academic excellence.
- Collaborate with other certified teachers in PE, Music, Art, and Cree Language.
- Use technology tools and resources, including computers, tablets, iPads, Smart Boards, digital media, interactive applications, and the Infinite Campus gradebook system.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and engage students in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Endorsement in OOE-Elementary Curriculum or Montana certification, or ability to obtain Montana certification.
- Proficiency in technology tools and applications as listed above.
- Up to ten years of teaching experience may be accepted.
- Evidence of teaching ability and teamwork in an elementary setting.
- The district pays $11,446 into a flex benefits package, including district insurance (Blue Cross/Blue Shield, taxable income, private insurance).
