Browning Public Schools is seeking a passionate and qualified teacher for the Career Technical Education program focusing on Wood Shop for the academic year. The selected candidate will be supervised by the principal or their designee, and assignments may change as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure students learn the subject matter and develop necessary skills in wood shop/construction.
- Plan and prepare engaging lessons that promote student understanding and achievement.
- Instruct and assess students' progress through various teaching methods.
- Participate in staff development training and collaborate with staff, students, and parents to enhance student achievement.
Required:
- Montana teacher certificate with appropriate endorsement (or be qualified to obtain).
- Clean criminal record (no felonies or multiple misdemeanors).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Certain physical abilities, including the capacity to exert 10-20 pounds of force.
- Previous successful teaching experience in a related field.
- Salary is based on the Certified Master Contract, dependent on degree and contracted experience. Starting salary for 1st year teacher with BA = $48,474.00
- Benefits include Discretionary leave, retirement plan, health insurance (currently paid by the District), and a moving reimbursement (up to $3,000.00 based mileage).
The successful applicant must pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
