Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician

Henderson Municipal Power & Light (HMP&L), an electric utility and fiber provider in Henderson, Kentucky
, is seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician for the electric department.

• Duties include gathering/verifying data, creating and maintaining maps, drawings, and records of the HMP&L electric utility system and preparing work orders.

• High school diploma or GED and completion of a vocational/technical training program in drafting with emphasis in GIS mapping and software or degree in GIS or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
• A minimum of one year GIS experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Residency within a defined distance from the Service Center Complex.
• Must pass a drug/alcohol screen, physical exam, and background check upon conditional offer of employment.
• No DUI convictions in the previous five years.

• ESRI experience.
• Experience in the utility industry.
• Computer literacy.
