Summary

Become a member of our retail sales team to aid in the sales of ski and snowboard related clothing and accessories to the public and employees. Obtain payment for goods sold while providing exceptional customer service and working at cash register and balancing daily receipts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide superior service to all customers, public and employees.
  • Greeting customers in a timely and courteous manner and determining their needs.
  • Directing customers to appropriate purchases and suggesting store items.
  • Understanding current trends, technical details, and fabric characteristics and communicate this information to the guest as needed.
  • Accepting payment efficiently, diplomatically, entering appropriate payment type, balancing cash sheet.
  • Responsible for balancing cash and credit card transactions at the end of each shift.
  • Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.

  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort guests at all times.
  • Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  • Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
  • Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Resort certification on any necessary equipment.
