Job Title
Natural Resource Management Staff Specialist and Park Ranger
DutiesServe as a natural resource management staff specialist and park ranger for a major water resource project(s).
Participate in the development of various planning documents including Master Plans and Operational Management Plans (OMP), for management of natural resources.
Document also include the Project Safety Plan, Fire Prevention Plan, Physical Security Plan, Shoreline Management Plan and Emergency Operations and Maintenance Plan.
Assist in preparation of annual Operations and Maintenance budgets for assigned programs; applies financial management systems, e.g., CEFMS, and related electronic programs and business functions.
Review plans proposed by others on government land and provides recommendations for modifications.
Maintains the project Geographic Information System (GIS) and collects pertinent field data using handheld GPS devises.
Participate in conservation, preservation, restoration and use of project natural and cultural resources.
Assist in conducting studies and investigations and observe trends in wildlife populations and habitat, significance of public recreational use and trends, and an analysis of over-all project benefits, as well as water level elevations, changes in surface acreage, vegetation coverage, conditions of lake water and recreation census.
Inspect mitigation plantings, areas sown to native grasses or other planting and prepares independent statements of finding and assessments.
Identify encroachments onto US Army Corps lands and follow through with resolving boundary violations.
