The inpatient and clinical pharmacy serves acute care, swing-bed, emergency, surgical, and outpatient infusion services, giving the Hospital Pharmacist a varied caseload across med-surg, perioperative, and transitional care. Clinically, the Hospital Pharmacist verifies and dispenses medications, performs medication reconciliation, participates in interdisciplinary rounds, supports antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetics, manages sterile and non-sterile compounding, and delivers patient and caregiver counseling. Administratively, the Hospital Pharmacist contributes to formulary and policy development, medication-use evaluation, inventory and procurement optimization, technology and automation upkeep, accreditation readiness, quality improvement projects, and precepting of learners.

Responsibilities- Clinically verify and dispense medications, perform medication reconciliation, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, support antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetics, manage sterile and non-sterile compounding, and deliver patient and caregiver counseling.

The Hospital Pharmacist reports to the Pharmacy Director and collaborates closely with a Pharmacy Manager for day-to-day clinical and operational priorities. While there are no permanent direct reports, the Hospital Pharmacist provides functional oversight to pharmacy technicians, students, and residents during assigned shifts. The Hospital Pharmacist partners with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leadership, perioperative services, case management, and quality teams to optimize medication safety and outcomes.
