The Administrative Assistant works with the HSB‑Medical and Dental Bureau at the Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge, Mt. They perform a significant role in the Continuous Quality Improvement process by ensuring data is maintained in the medical record and providing information for tracking cost, history and extent of disease, diagnostic encounters, and treatment.
- Scheduling of inmates for the walk‑in clinic and five full‑time medical providers as well as off‑site medical appointments.
- Responsible for compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records of infirmary and clinical patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal and regulatory requirements of the correctional health care system and the NCCHC (National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
- Reports to the Medical Records Supervisor.
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- One‑year work‑related experience in a medical office/clinic is preferred.
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
