Position: Clinical Educator | Emergency | Le Bonheur | FT Day
Location: Poplar

Job Summary

Responsible for unit/department based clinical orientation and provision of clinical in-service training for new and current clinical associates. Coordinates individualized orientation for all new unit/department associates, plans and implements standardized learning activities, serves as a role model, and provides consultative services. Integrates relevant research outcomes into learning activities and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate individualized orientation for new unit/department associates.
  • Plan and implement standardized learning activities to meet the needs of all levels of clinical associates.
  • Serve as role model/change agent to promote professional and technical development.
  • Provide consultative services to internal and external customers.
  • Integrate relevant research outcomes into learning activities.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned or requested.
Education & Formal Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health (Preferred)
  • Master’s Degree in Allied Health (Preferred)
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Work Experience
  • General: 3–5 years (Required)
  • Teaching: 3–5 years (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
  • Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (Required)
  • Registered Nurse, Tennessee – Tennessee Board of Nursing (Required)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist:
    Mississippi – Mississippi State Department of Health (Preferred)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist:
    Tennessee – Tennessee Board of Respiratory Care (Preferred)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist:
    Arkansas – Arkansas State Medical Board (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of clinical care and proficiency in a specialized clinical field.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills; ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
Physical Demands

The physical activities include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion; medium work with up to 50 lbs force occasionally and 25 lbs frequently; good balance, coordination, and close visual acuity required; frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact; exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous materials; ability to react quickly to emergency situations; frequent travel outside hospital.
