Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasonographer)
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasonographer) performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. They are responsible for operating ultrasonography equipment, managing patient schedules, and ensuring the quality and safety of imaging services.
Responsibilities:
- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images of patients’ internal structures.
- Manage daily operations of the sonography room, including patient scheduling and coordination.
- Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
- Follow established protocols to ensure quality image acquisition and patient safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation and generate detailed reports of procedures.
- Uphold high standards of medical ethics and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or cardiovascular technology program.
- Active ARDMS certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular specialties.
- Breast certification and Adult Echo Cardiography certification preferred.
- Current BLS certification and compliance with CME requirements.
- Demonstrate strong patient-care skills and team collaboration abilities.
