License: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or Cardiovascular Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required.
Certifications:
Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the following specialties:
Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular.
Breast certification is preferred.
Certification in Adult Echocardiography is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Must-Have:

Description:
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.
This position is responsible for the daily operations of the sonography room, patient scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities also include reporting equipment failures and participating in quality assessment processes.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer must maintain a high standard of medical ethics.
Self-motivation to increase understanding and knowledge of the field, diseases, and new procedures as they evolve is essential.
