Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist provides essential support in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile environments, instruments, and supplies. They work closely with surgeons to ensure surgical operations are performed efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble sterile equipment and instruments required for surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the operation by observing strict aseptic techniques.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by preparing supplies and instruments in advance.
• Assist surgical staff in donning sterile attire and handling instruments.
• Document surgical procedures and supplies used in electronic medical records.
• Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical tools to maintain safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program recognized by CAAHEP, ABHES, or hold certification from NBSTA.
• Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology; familiarity with electronic medical record documentation is preferred.
• Hold a current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a surgical setting.
