Treatment Assistant TA and Transportation/Rehab Aide

The Treatment Assistant/Rehab Aide will provide transportation to incoming residents or other transportation as authorized by the Clinical Director. Other responsibilities may include monitoring medication administration, assessing conflict situations with residents, providing medication, and contacting supervisors as needed. The Treatment Assistant will follow policies and procedures, all rules and instructions regarding the therapeutic milieu and routines. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.

The employee will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by his/her supervisor.

Essential Job Functions include checking in with prior staff for any resident report and receiving any added assignments, supervising resident AM/PM care (medication disbursement, medication intake and medication recording (MAR), maintaining resident's schedule for shift, observing and assuring adherence to all house rules, assisting with urine drug screen when directed to do so, completing room searches when requested by Clinical Director, reporting any resident needs or requests to oncoming shift staff, reorienting residents to their responsibilities when necessary, maintaining a professional relationship with residents, reporting any disruptive behavior or violations that occur during your shift in the daily log, communicating any concerns to oncoming staff, performing room checks every 2 hours unless there is reason to believe that they need to be done more often, ensuring no resident is outside past 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 p.m. on weekends, ensuring no resident is outside until 5:30 a.m., ensuring TA is never to leave the property during working hours unless there is someone to oversee his/her responsibilities, calling 911 in the case of a medical emergency, ensuring other residents are never allowed to leave the premises with the afflicted resident, following State of Montana and Recovery Center of Montana policies, procedures, and guidelines, participating in training required by Recovery Centers of Montana, and performing other duties as assigned.

Attendance Requirements include having flexible hours that meet client scheduling needs, scheduling of staff meetings and training meetings necessitating variations in schedules, permanent changes in an employee's work schedule being provided to the employee in writing with an explanation, and scheduling being the responsibility of the employer based on the needs of the people served by the agency.

Minimum Qualifications include being able to assess and respond to the needs of adults, understanding community resources and knowledge of how to access services, understanding addictions, behaviors, and relationships with a diverse group of people, demonstrating healthy interpersonal skills, empathy, and adequate communication skills, being available beyond regularly scheduled hours to assist and provide team support, identifying a crisis and responding accordingly, providing transportation using own vehicle, having positive teamwork skills with other staff, clients, and other resources in the community, having computer skills sufficient to enter the required information concerning clients and related statistical data, holding a current, valid Montana State Driver's License and comprehensive vehicle insurance, and passing CPS and Criminal Background Checks.
