Housekeeping Technician

Responsible for all housekeeping tasks assigned in and around the hotel. Cleans and maintains the appearance of the hotel and the administrative areas and restrooms and other assigned areas, while following safety guidelines and policies and procedures to achieve Glacier Peaks Hotel standards of quality.

Essential responsibilities include:

• Greet guests upon interaction with a warm and friendly greeting.
• Clean guest rooms according to standards within allotted time frame by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Change bed linens and replace towels and other amenities.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures; dust furniture, walls or equipment.
• Notify managers concerning the need for repairs in guest rooms.
• Process guest items left in rooms according to lost and found policy.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to Glacier Peaks Hotel Standards.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform house person and lobby attendant duties when short staffed or during peak periods.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read and understand warning labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Must be able to extend arms overhead with bending and stooping frequently and be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work with a variety of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work independently and on a team and be flexible with shift and days off.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
• High School diploma preferred.
• Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, and weekends.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and kneeling.
