Summary
Assist guests in getting on and off of surface lifts/tow rope by operating lift including inspection and testing before opening. Make sure every guest has the right ticket to access the lift. A crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests satisfied.
Duties and Responsibilities
Welcomes and greets guests as they enter line queues and assists guests as needed.Assists with shoveling and raking of snow and ice on a regular basis to maintain loading ramps.Identifies and groups the appropriate number of guests to load a chair in an efficient and effective manner.Always establishes crowd‑control and communicates with guests when organizing chair load groups or line queues.May assist with creating the maze and safe‑loading areas with access to RFID gates using appropriate tools.Capable of resolving guest conflict using resort policies and procedures.Completes daily lift logs, incident reports, and opening and closing procedures on appropriate reports.Under the supervision of the Lift Operations Supervisor or assistants, operates the assigned lift in accordance with standard procedures and written or verbal instruction to provide safe, quality uphill transportation for guests and employees.Communicates with top or bottom lift staff to initiate the proper start/stop procedures as public are loading the chairs.Travels over the snow on either skis or snowboard to and from work assignments following all resort policies and procedures regarding designated trails and safety guidelines.Must communicate and clear with Lift Maintenance and Dispatch prior to turning lifts for the public.Assists with the inspection of the lift prior to operation start‑up, which includes emptying trash containers, checking the status of marker information boards, and checking switches, chairs, grips, and maintaining ramps and corrals.Performs closing procedures by unloading all riders from lift, shutting down lift, clearing out and smoothing ramps and maze areas, securing lift house and tools.Must become familiar with the area (lifts and trails) and also know the functions of other departments. Advises and assists guests as needed in a courteous manner.Must become familiar with resort’s policies and guest service expectations.Communicates problems to superiors while showing initiative in handling routine matters and emergencies.Continually remains vigilant to the needs of both the equipment and the guests and reacts to those needs in the safest manner while maintaining quality service.Contributes to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintaining a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.Meets service level objectives and department goals as set forth by the immediate supervisor.Flexible working hours.Responsibilities to Safety
Protect the safety of self, co‑workers, and Sierra‑at‑Tahoe Resort guests at all times.Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.Report safety‑related accidents and incidents at once to the immediate supervisor.Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.Qualifications
