Overview
Workforce Consultant – Wolf Point, serving Northeastern Montana communities (Wolf Point, Poplar, Glasgow, Scobey, Plentywood). The role focuses on helping job seekers unlock career potential, delivering employment and training services, and connecting individuals with opportunity through coaching, workshops, and labor market insights.
Responsibilities- Empower clients by developing and implementing personalized job search plans and identifying the services, training, and supports needed for lasting employment success.
- Discover potential and uncover barriers through assessments to inform strategic, meaningful employment pathways.
- Provide ongoing guidance with case management and career counseling, connecting clients to programs, resources, and supports.
- Champion access and opportunity by helping clients navigate workforce programs and partner services with clarity and confidence.
- Coordinate and track client activities, services, and outcomes to drive progress toward employment milestones.
- Inspire career readiness by coaching on resumes, applications, interviews, and overcoming obstacles to success.
- Facilitate workshops, partner with employers, and share labor market insights to strengthen the future-ready workforce.
- Job search planning:
Develop individualized employment plans with actionable steps. - Client communication:
Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, rapport-building, and clear communication with diverse audiences. - Client assessment:
Conduct interviews and assessments to evaluate strengths, needs, and barriers. - Career coaching:
Guide and motivate clients through goal setting, skill development, and problem-solving related to employment. - Resource navigation:
Knowledge of workforce, education, and community resources; connect clients to appropriate services. - Job readiness training:
Teach resume writing, applications, interviewing, and networking. - Advocacy:
Represent client skills and workforce services to employers and partners. - Workshop facilitation:
Develop and deliver structured, engaging presentations or workshops. - Employer engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with employers and connect candidates to opportunities. - Public speaking:
Present information clearly to groups in a professional manner.
- Employment services or related experience helping individuals achieve employment, education, or training goals.
- Experience working with individuals facing barriers related to employment, housing, or economic stability.
- Partnership and relationship-building experience with employers, organizations, or public agencies.
- Strong communication and documentation skills for diverse audiences and professional records.
- Data awareness and problem-solving: use information to identify needs and support service improvements.
- A bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field may supplement experience but is not required if demonstrated skills exist. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
