The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch is a Private Membership experience set on 18,000 extraordinary acres in the state of Montana. Crazy Mountain Ranch is a project by Lone Mountain Land Company (LMLC) who manages the planning, entitlement, building, marketing, and sale of premier real estate communities around Big Sky, Montana.

The new Coore & Crenshaw design is currently under construction and promises to be walkable and challenging, yet very playable that seamlessly blends with the landscape and takes full advantage of the exceptional mountain views, aspen groves and wide-open spaces surrounding the Ranch.

The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch is looking for a hardworking, self-motivated individual to assist in the construction, grow-in and opening of this premier golf course. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with Director of Golf Course and Grounds/ Superintendent in the building and eventual maintenance of this 18 hole and Par 3 championship golf course. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills with a team-oriented mindset that will translate to the operations staff.

Responsibilities
  • Participate and help manage the construction and grow-in phases of a new championship golf course.
  • Assist in planning and supervising the maintenance operations of greens, tees, and fairways.
  • Supervise and perform various maintenance duties as necessary to maintain the golf course in proper playing conditions according to club standards.
  • Supervise and lead course construction projects.
  • Supervise equipment maintenance and repair operations. Establish and implement a cleaning and preventative maintenance program for appropriate equipment, tools, vehicles etc.
  • Perform routine inspection and upkeep of the irrigation system including changes and repairs, as necessary.
  • Monitor soil moisture levels and manage or oversee daily irrigation practices and scheduling to ensure optimal levels of soil moisture for playability and turf health.
  • Maintain accurate records pertaining to departmental activities including, but not limited to labor schedules, course maintenance programs and activities, construction activities, equipment inventory and repair, safety meetings and activities, fertilizer and chemical applications and pest control practices.
  • Supervise and participate in pesticide/fertilizer applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide/fertilizer application equipment.
  • Responsible for various tasks during winter months including property snow removal and other Club assistance as directed by Director of Golf Course and Grounds.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a position of 2nd Assistant Superintendent, Assistant in Training or supervisory type role.
