Montana Solid Rock Quarry is looking for motivated, reliable individuals for a Chopper Operator/Stacker position.
M-F 8-5 with hours changing through summer months.
19.00/hour.
Rock quarry laborers are responsible for classifying and creating pallets of rock to MSRQ's specifications. To perform the job successfully, quarry laborers must be focused, have strong organizational skills, pay close attention to detail, and must have the physical stamina and the ability to repetitively lift 50‑100lbs. All employees must have a reliable form of transportation.
Tasks Including, But Not Limited To- Be able to comfortably work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Learn the different classifications of product that the quarry produces.
- Understand and apply all safety procedures, standards, and rules set forth by MSHA, OSHA, and MSRQ.
- Create pallets so that the products presents itself for optimum pricing.
- Stack product to a set specification.
- Keep working area clean, orderly, and in good working order.
- Hammer fencing nails through chicken wire to make pallets of stacked rock in an efficient and safe manner.
- Maintain a constant efficient speed of work to optimize production.
- Maintain a hydration and nutrition level that is constant with the workload that the job is demanding of the body.
- Maintain an attitude that is wholesome and enjoyable to work around.
- Be prepared by bringing proper gear for changing weather conditions.
- Communicate with supervisor regarding personal/product needs, suggestions and ways to improve efficiency.
- Conduct a safety inspection before each shift.
- Chop and stack product to a set specification and quality.
- Be flexible in alternating positions (Chopper/Stacker).
- Maintain equipment in accordance with the specified maintenance program.
- Maintain organization with the team.
- Maintain full communication with the Landing Supervisor.
- Notify supervisor of any problems or concerns with equipment, team, or work environment.
- Maintain compliance with MSRQ & MSHA PPE standards.
- Maintain full communication with manager and harvest supervisor as to production quantities and variety.
- Limit cell phone use to business related calls only, except in emergencies.
- Keep timecards on site to be reviewed daily.
- Perform addition duties as assigned by management.
