An Assembly Lead at Nomad Global Communications Solutions will play a pivotal role in driving team performance and ensuring production goals are met. This position involves leading a diverse team of 4-8 employees while fostering a collaborative and safety-focused environment. The Assembly Lead will guide daily operations, facilitate effective communication of goals, and address any challenges that arise. By leveraging leadership skills and knowledge of production processes, the Assembly Team Lead will coach team members to enhance their performance and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

This role is essential in ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently, ultimately supporting our mission to provide timely and effective communication solutions to our customers.

Production leadership includes:

• Leading the assembly team to ensure that safety, efficiency, and delivery goals are consistently met.
• Reviewing daily production schedules, identifying any staffing or material needs, and presenting issues to the Production Manager as required.
• Facilitating daily startup meetings, communicating team goals and objectives, and monitoring progress throughout the shift.
• Recording and reporting on production progress, identifying and resolving issues in collaboration with the Production Manager when necessary.
• Monitoring team performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, and taking corrective actions as required.
• Working cooperatively with other departments to resolve challenges and achieve production objectives.
• Providing coaching and development to team members to meet performance and behavioral expectations.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies, including the demonstration and enforcement of Nomad Core Values.

Assembly functions include:

• Performing all duties of an Assembly Technician, including reading and interpreting engineering CAD drawings.
• Leading by example, promoting a culture of safety and quality.

Administrative support includes:

• Collaborating with the Production Manager to address staffing needs and production scheduling.
• Assisting with maintaining production records, completing necessary documentation, and tracking progress.
• Providing feedback on team member performance and participating in disciplinary actions when needed.

Other duties include:

• Taking on additional responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the Assembly department.
• Working with other department leads to ensure cross-functional goals are met.

Basic knowledge desired includes:

• Proven ability to lead and coach a team in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Nomad production processes and ability to innovate to improve efficiency.
• Strong PC skills, including proficiency with E2, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.

Physical demands include:

• Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.
• Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors.
• Must have the physical stamina to work in awkward positions and stand for prolonged periods.
