The Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving injection molds and related tooling to support efficient production operations. This position performs preventative maintenance, minor mold repairs and modifications, maintains tooling records, and works closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and support production goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Mold Maintenance & RepairPerform preventative maintenance on injection molds and related tooling
Complete minor mold repairs and modifications
Troubleshoot mold-related issues and recommend corrective actions
Assemble and disassemble mold components during maintenance and repair activities
Coordinate specialized repair services with outside vendors when needed
Prepare new molds for production, including cleaning, labeling, documenting, and inspecting components
Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance, repairs, modifications, and tooling locations
Set up and operate tool room and machine shop equipment
Manufacture fixtures, tooling, and other support equipment as needed
Perform minor maintenance on tool room equipment
Coordinate welding, heat treating, and other specialty services as required
Support mold setup and operation of molding equipment
Assist in evaluating mold performance during production
Work closely with production and engineering teams to meet production schedules and quality requirements
Communicate tooling status, repairs, and priorities across shifts
Identify and communicate safety concerns
Follow all safety procedures and safe work practices
Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives
Support quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence objectives
Perform other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent required
Three to five years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, tool repair, machining, injection molding, or a related manufacturing environment preferred
Experience with machining, welding, mechanical repair, or related technical work preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and equipment documentation
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, tooling, or production-related issues
Experience using measuring tools and performing basic mathematical calculations related to machining and repair work
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional on-call weekends as needed
Demonstrated record of regular and punctual attendance
