Alluvion Health is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our integrated Behavioral Health team. The ideal candidate provides comprehensive mental health care, including psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy, medication management, and collaboration within a team-based care model. This position plays a vital role in improving the mental well-being of our patients through compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based care.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, compassionate, and ethical mental health therapy to patients.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide medication management.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and integrated care team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Complete timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Adhere to Alluvion Health policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
  • Stay current with research and evidence-based best practices.
  • Maintain an active DEA registration.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and other evaluation activities.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Knowledge of:

    • Psychiatric disorders across the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults)
    • Medication use, effects, and management
    • Socioeconomic factors affecting mental health
    • Individual and family therapy methods

    Skills in:

    • Crisis intervention and varied therapeutic techniques
    • Independent work and time management
    • Effective communication and emotional sensitivity

    Ability to:

    • Interpret and follow technical and professional instructions
    • Recognize and refer conditions beyond scope to appropriate providers
    • Manage life-threatening or emergency situations appropriately
    • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance
    • Work effectively with populations from a wide range of backgrounds
    • Adapt to change, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines
    • Collaborate within a team while maintaining independence in clinical decision-making
    Education, Experience & Certification

    Education:

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric certification required

    Experience:

    • One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting preferred

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • Active Montana APRN license with prescriptive authority
    • Current DEA registration
    • Valid Montana driver's license

    Computer Skills:

    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access) and ability to learn Alluvion Health software applications
    Language Skills
    • Fluent in English with the ability to read, interpret, and communicate complex information effectively.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Physical Requirements
    • Regularly required to sit, use hands/fingers, and operate a computer.
    • Occasionally required to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
    • Must possess visual and auditory acuity for patient care and computer-based work.
    • Mobility to move throughout clinic sites and travel between locations as needed.
    Working Conditions
    • Primarily indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
    • OSHA Exposure Category #1:
      Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
    • Standard schedule of 40–45 hours per week; flexibility required for patient and clinic needs.
