Acute Care Manager – Roundup Memorial Hospital, Roundup, MT

Shift: Day, Evenings, Nights, Weekends. Employment Status:
Full-Time (.75 or greater). Hour(s) per Pay Period: 80 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt).

Responsibilities
  • Support and model behaviors consistent with RMH’s organizational mission, vision, values, strategic goals, business strategies, and service expectations.
  • Adhere to RMH’s Code of Business Conduct and corporate compliance program, meeting all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
  • Assist the ADNS with the development, implementation, and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives to ensure safe, high-quality patient/resident care and case management for CAHS patients.
  • Develop and implement an education plan addressing individual and departmental needs, directing orientation and training for new staff and ensuring ongoing education for current staff.
  • Assign, supervise, guide, and instruct professional staff in providing high quality services, accurate documentation, and adherence to state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in short- and long-term planning for departmental functions, budgetary processes, and fiscal control.
  • Assist with interviewing, directing, and training new staff; work with ADNS on employee disciplinary actions.
  • Participate in facility committees and maintain performance improvement programs to analyze data and develop improved methods of care.
  • Organize ongoing communication with the interdisciplinary team regarding aspects of patient/resident care and department functions, maintaining clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain department schedule, review employee timecards, and cover on-call responsibilities as required, including working two 12‑hour floor shifts and two 8‑hour office shifts per week.
  • Coordinate resources and activities necessary to meet regulatory requirements for case management services, develop and review policies and procedures, and liaison with regional and community hospitals for continued care of patients.
  • Participate in the referral process for skilled patients, monitor care from admission to discharge, assist in transition of care, and actively participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Monitor re-admission data to the ER and hospital, using data to improve quality of care and assess community needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet departmental and organizational needs.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor of Arts in Nursing (BAN) preferred.
  • Current Montana state license as Registered Nurse.
  • Clinical nursing experience relevant to the area of service.
  • Progressively responsible duties and/or previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Four (4) years of nursing experience in medical/surgical or in a specialty clinical area preferred.
  • Healthcare Provider CPR Certification required.
  • TNCC/ENPC, ACLS, and PALS certifications or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
  • Respiratory protection fit testing and medical clearance required.
  • Other certifications as may be required by specialty area.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
