Responsibilities
  • Provide ER nursing care and acute care services, including initial assessments, continuous monitoring, and timely triage decisions.
  • Triage patients in the ER and determine priorities, initiating appropriate interventions and escalating care as needed.
  • Work as a team lead on the unit, supervising CNA and coordinating with LPN and other nursing staff.
  • Participate in patient rounds and assist with LTC duties at night, including rounds and toileting responsibilities.
  • Administer medications, manage IV therapy, perform standard procedures, and document patient status per policy.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort, maintain infection control practices, and communicate clearly with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff.
Requirements
  • ER and acute care nursing experience; able to triage in ER and manage low census with efficiency.
  • Certifications:

    ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required; TNCC is preferred.
  • Availability for the night-shift schedule (3x12s) and to work within a rural Critical Access setting.
  • Ability to supervise nursing support staff (CNA, LPN) and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills; comfort with a small, close-knit team.
