Job Description:

The BSMC Acute Care RN works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team, plans and implements patient and family education, ensures patient safety, and is responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients.

Responsibilities:

• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation.
• Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
• Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
• Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
• Implements the identified plan of care.
• Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
• Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
• Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
• Evaluates one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
• Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
• Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
• Integrates research findings into practice.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Current Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse).
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certification.
• Current Trauma Nursing Care Coordinator certification (TNCC).
