Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse (CVICU RN) to join our dedicated team in a 10-bed unit. The ideal candidate will have recent open heart recovery nursing experience and be prepared to care for immediate postoperative open heart patients on their first day. Our hospital has 36 licensed inpatient beds and 10 ICU beds, expanding our cardiac services to meet the needs of higher acuity patients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a cardiac medical surgical unit.
• Support patients physically, emotionally, spiritually, and culturally.
• Care for diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and various cardiac and surgical conditions.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment such as central lines, chest tubes, and multiple IVs.
• Assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Act as a clinical leader and assist in precepting staff.
• Provide direct patient care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current State of Montana RN Licensure
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Degree from an Accredited Nursing Program
• Recent critical care experience, specifically in CVICU and open heart recovery preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
