Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse (CVICU RN)

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse (CVICU RN) is responsible for providing specialized care to post-operative open heart and critically ill cardiac patients in a dedicated ICU setting. This role requires immediate patient assessment and intervention to support recovery and stability.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients using advanced medical equipment such as A-lines, chest tubes, and ventilators.
• Provide comprehensive physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients and their families.
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and operate invasive lines following established protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Act as a clinical leader by precepting and mentoring new staff and colleagues.
• Ensure accurate documentation and effective discharge planning for all patients.

Qualifications:

• Current Montana RN license with valid certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Minimum high school diploma and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Recent critical care, CVICU, or open heart recovery experience preferred.
• Proficiency in operating advanced medical equipment and invasive lines.
• Demonstrated ability to assess patient conditions and respond promptly to deteriorating situations.
