Responsibilities
  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based emergency nursing care for adult and pediatric patients in the ER
  • Perform rapid triage, initial assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring; administer medications and IV therapies as ordered; interpret monitoring results
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, charge nurses, and interprofessional teams to coordinate care across ER, inpatient units, swing bed, observation status, and outpatient therapies
  • Document assessments, plans, procedures, and patient education accurately in the medical record; ensure safety protocols and infection control practices are followed
  • Respond to evolving patient conditions with appropriate emergency interventions; elevate to physicians and supervisors as needed
  • Facilitate discharge planning and patient/family education, ensuring clear instructions and referrals for follow-up care
Requirements
  • ER experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC certification preferred
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment across ER, inpatient, swing bed, observation, and outpatient therapies
  • Flexibility to work Days/Nights and adapt to a small critical access hospital setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate across multiple units and disciplines
