Lead Wildland Firefighter; Hotshot Crew

Overview

Wild land fire suppression/management/control position as a skilled senior firefighter on a Hotshot crew. Must be committed to being away from home for a long period of time during fire season (unless a family emergency occurs within the immediate family).

• Perform wild land fire suppression/management/control as a senior firefighter on a Hotshot crew.
• Other wild land fire related duties may involve fire prevention, patrol, detection, or prescribed burning.
• Incumbent may be assigned for varying periods of time into one or more types of positions within the wildfire program where the individual s specialized skills are required.
• Position is at full performance level.

• Must be a firefighter 1 qualified.
• Must have a valid State Issued driver s license.
• Requirements to pass medical exam and arduous fitness test.
• Must have a telephone or reliable message phone, and be available and on call 24 hours a day during the fire season.
• Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State law enforcement.
