Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
Responsible for assisting the fuels program performing a variety of fuels/fire management tasks. The primary emphasis of this position is the administration, implementation and completion of prescribed burn and mechanical fuels treatments with standard fuels/fire management methods and techniques. Work involves activities related to data analysis and management, layout of treatment units, technical report writing, fuels treatment plan writing, prescribed fire plan writing, and working with other natural resources disciplines.
Will also support wild land fire suppression operations as qualified and requested.
- Assist with fuels program tasks related to prescribed burns and mechanical fuels treatments using standard methods and techniques.
- Analyze and manage data, lay out treatment units, and contribute to technical reports and fuels treatment and prescribed fire plans.
- Collaborate with other natural resources disciplines and support wildland fire suppression operations as qualified and requested.
- Maintain valid Oregon driver s license and be insurable.
- Must be able to pass medical exam and arduous pack test.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Pass a criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
