Overview

Primary duties are using power tools to remove juniper and brush, and will be required to fight fire under stressful conditions with hand and power tools from 8-76 hours. Other wildland fire related duties might involve fire prevention, patrol, detection, or prescribed burning. The incumbent will also be involved with the maintenance and repair of firefighting tools, equipment, and facilities, and will receive firefighting training.

Other duties are directly connected with the control and extinguishment of fires and/or monitoring and using firefighter apparatus and equipment.

• Physical requirements and employment eligibility: must be physically vigorous and pass a medical exam and arduous fitness test.
• Must have a telephone or reliable message phone, and be available and on call 24 hours a day during the fire season.
• Possess a valid Oregon driver's license and be insurable through CTWS.
• Must submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement and a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.
