Mixed Animal Veterinarian

Have you ever heard of Absarokee, Montana? Think a small town privately owned, progressive mixed animal clinic that cares for "all creatures, great and small" sounds too good to be true? What if we told you that our clinic also operates in the shadow of the majestic Beartooth Mountain Range and is looking for an associate veterinarian to join our young, positive team culture?

We are a four doctor mixed animal practice (approximately 50% bovine, 30% small animal, and 20% equine). All of our patients have advanced equipment available for therapeutics and diagnostics:
Abaxis analyzers & modern laboratory capabilities, our in house hydraulic tilt Silencer, four portable ultrasound units, fully wireless radiography, dental radiography, endoscopy, cloud based software with a nearly paperless approach, and more. We extend our capabilities beyond the clinic with our versatile fleet of mobile equipment including a portable hydraulic Silencer chute, a portable Arrowquip Q-Catch chute, and our portable Arrowquip chute, tub and alley system.

During business hours our practice provides scheduled appointments and emergency services for bovine and agricultural animal patients, including herd health and preventive care, surgery, reproduction, intensive care, podiatry, and emergency medicine. We also provide a wide range of services for our equine and small animal patients, including preventive care, expanding surgical services, dental care, intensive equine services, acupuncture, and emergency care.

After business hours, our veterinarians share large aimal after hours on call responsibilities evenly between them, with the after hours caseload being mostly large animals as there are multiple 24 hour clinics one hour away for our small animal patients.

There are opportunities for growth in several areas of the practice, including equine reproduction and small animal surgery.

Every year we host veterinary students from all over the country for externships and preceptor experiences, so mentorship is in our blood.

Our clients know us by name, and are an overwhelmingly great group of folks who care about their critters. We are managed by a young team, driven to create a stellar work environment while supporting our local agriculture and pet owning community. We are adding a veterinarian to our team so that we can continue our four day work week and still handle our growing caseload.

The Absarokee lifestyle includes a small town culture with big city vibes only an hour away. Billings, Montana is within sixty miles, while Red Lodge, Montana is less than thirty five miles away. Our area's warmer months are jam packed with adventurous activities including hiking, camping, white water rafting, boating, and so much more. During the cooler months, skiing, ice fishing, and hunting are popular.

Our clinic participates in a team building activity at least once a year, and our annual Christmas party is always a hoot!
