Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoc to join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team at Clemson University with expertise across the fields of wildlife ecology, restoration ecology and applied wildlife management. The individual will be primarily supervised by Dr. David Jachowski but will work with a large team of PI’s, project specialists, and graduate students in the Jachowski Lab at Clemson University.
The individual will work with Dr. Jachowski to analyze long-term datasets, publish peer-reviewed journal articles and help drafting of grant proposals that advance the career of the post-doc and meet the needs of project partners.
Primary responsibilities will include accumulation, analysis and interpretation of pre-existing data to develop novel manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications. The fellow will have the opportunity to supervise academic and research duties of graduate students in the laboratory. The individual will assist in development of proposals by gathering preliminary data and putting together grant packages under supervision.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- A PhD in wildlife biology or closely related field
- Proficiency in analytical techniques, data interpretation and scientific writing
- Lead authorship on 5 peer-reviewed articles
- Evidence of productively working in a team environment
- Must possess a valid US driver’s license
- Individuals with the following skills are preferred:
- Communicating and working with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with animal movement, resource selection or community-level
- Managing and collecting data and advanced analytical skills in Program R and other statistical software platforms
- Proficiency in mentoring and advising early career researchers
- Evidence of strong scientific writing skills
