Security Guard

Summary

All guards employed by Athens Services are responsible for the security of all property and materials within company‑owned facilities. Guards must conduct themselves professionally, report violations, and avoid situations that could place them in physical danger or confrontation.

• Ensure the assigned building/premises is safe and secured from contingencies and acts of violence.
• Observe and report all persons entering the premises and keep an eye on intruders.
• Prevent the entry of unauthorized people and prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Maintain a log book detailing the names, purpose of visit, and entry/exit times of each individual entering the premises.
• Conduct routine checks inside and outside the building each day.
• Report suspicious acts to local police and management staff.
• Verify all possible entrances and exits are closed and all lights and electric equipment are turned off.
• Answer emergency alarms immediately and inform the appropriate department (e.g., fire department).
• Make detailed notes of damages or unusual occurrences.
• Enforce rules and regulations, warning violators of possible consequences.
• Direct vehicles around the building, ensuring safety while inside premises.
• In case of a load fire, operate the vehicle to dump the load into a safe area, preventing further property damage.

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge and ability to secure a premise.
• Honest, dedicated, sincere, polite, and courteous.
• Ability to handle and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to act quickly in emergency situations and judge potential threats.
• Acceptable driver record.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Previous security experience.

• Physical: sitting, seeing, hearing, smelling continuously; problem solving, oral and written communication, analytical ability, concentration, eye/hand coordination, typing, handling, wrist motion continuously; bending, reaching, stretching, standing, walking occasionally.
• Environmental: exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, noise continuously; exposure to grease, oil, chemicals, wet conditions occasionally; work inside only, office position.

Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday: 4:00pm–4:00am

$21.28 – $22.28 per hour
