Location: Warm Springs
Overview
Provide routine and emergency repairs within the Tribal and HUD rental units, including preventative maintenance. Install and replace various items in rental units and perform related upkeep.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and emergency repairs in Tribal and HUD rental units.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and respond to emergency repair needs.
- Install and replace items such as locks, doors, windows, screens, cabinets, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, heating and cooling equipment, thermostats, water heaters, wall coverings, floor coverings, and roof coverings.
- Paint interior and exterior of units.
- Maintain a clean maintenance shop and alert supervisor to the need for complex repairs.
- Perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and assist in other areas where staffing shortages exist.
- Work safely to prevent accidents to self and equipment; communicate effectively (verbal and written); complete assignments accurately and timely.
- Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and tenants; analyze and solve problems promptly; ensure accuracy in problem resolution; use independent judgment and initiative.
- Working knowledge of electrical (testing), plumbing, painting, wall repairs, carpentry, vinyl and carpet installation, window removal/replacement, and minor furnace operation.
- High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of related experience; minimum supervision; and a valid Oregon driver’s license.
- Knowledge of principles, tools, and materials used in one or more building trades (carpentry, plumbing, painting, heating, electrical).
- Understanding of occupational hazards and safety procedures relevant to the trades; skilled in use and care of common hand tools for building and maintenance work.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, tenants, and the public; effective written and verbal communication; ability to complete assignments accurately and on time.
- Construction/Maintenance certification is a plus; experience in Construction, building maintenance, HVAC, electric, and plumbing is desirable.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
