Gills Point S is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Diesel/Truck Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel trucks, vehicles and equipment. Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, inspections, and preventative service
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding repair status and timelines
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
- 3+ years of experience working on heavy diesel equipment (trucks, trailers, or construction equipment)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
- Experience with diagnostic software and tools preferred
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
