Location: Brockton

Anderson Underground is hiring Underground Laborers to support traveling utility construction crews.

This is a hands-on field role assisting with underground utility installation, trenching, excavation, potholing, back filling, traffic control, material handling, equipment support, and jobsite cleanup. Laborers work closely with operators, locators, foremen, and crew members to keep jobs moving safely and efficiently.

Flights and transportation provided when applicable

Key Responsibilities Assist with underground utility construction, including fiber, telecom, conduit, and related utility installation.

Support trenching, excavation, potholing, day lighting, back filling, and restoration work.

Load, unload, stage, and organize tools, materials, pipe, conduit, and equipment.

Assist equipment operators by spotting, guiding, and supporting safe equipment movement.

Help set up barricades, traffic control, trench boxes, shoring, and jobsite safety areas.

Perform hand digging around marked utilities and active utility crossings.

Assist with conduit placement, pulling/pushing cable, and general utility installation tasks.

Operate small tools and support equipment such as tampers, compactors, and hand tools.

Clean and maintain tools, vehicles, trailers, and jobsite areas.

Follow prints, jobsite instructions, utility markings, and direction from foremen and operators.

Follow company safety policies, OSHA standards, DOT requirements, and damage-prevention procedures.

Required Qualifications Previous construction, utility, excavation, or outdoor labor experience preferred.

Ability to travel and work a 10-on / 4-off schedule.

Ability to work 50–55 hours per week, with overtime as needed.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to perform physical outdoor labor in varying weather and ground conditions.

Ability to lift, carry, shovel, dig, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Willingness to assist with general crew duties as needed.

Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work as part of a traveling crew.

Ability to pass required background and drug screenings.

Preferred Qualifications Class A CDL.Underground utility construction experience.

Experience with fiber, telecom, conduit, HDD, plowing, trenching, or excavation crews.

Experience spotting equipment or working around active equipment and live utilities.

Familiarity with utility markings, potholing, traffic control, and damage-prevention practices.
