Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
General
Summary:
Maintain and repair trucks, heavy equipment, and support vehicles used in the Highway Construction Training (HCT) program. Maintain a safe, clean work environment. Ensure safety of self, students, and others on projects and work areas. Instruct students in basic preventative maintenance and repair procedures to enhance truck driving and heavy equipment training. Must have ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate should be flexible, while core work hours are generally consistent, there may be infrequent exceptions as circumstances dictate.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 2 years successful recent, verifiable experience as a heavy truck & equipment mechanic. (5 years preferred);
Class A Commercial Driver's License with current DOT physical. Technical skills in preventative maintenance and truck/equipment repairs, including hydraulic system repair. Welding, machine tool, and fabrication experience and ability. Familiarity with types of equipment used in t
