Family Support Specialist (Contract Position)

Family Support Specialist (Contract Position) – DHRD Social Services Division.

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology or a related field, or equivalent of 4 years of experience providing case management services for vulnerable populations. A combination of schooling and experience equaling a total of 4 years is acceptable.
• Proficient computer skills, including scanner and other office equipment, MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, plus strong writing skills (preferred).
• Must possess a valid Montana driver’s license.
• Must have never been convicted or plead guilty to a felony crime of domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, sexual offense, or a crime of violence.
• Must never have a CPS substantiation of child abuse or neglect.
• Must be a mandatory reporter of child abuse/neglect and sign a confidentiality agreement at least annually.
• Endorsement of professional communication protocols.

• Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the CSKT drug testing program; random drug/alcohol testing applies.
• Background check required in accordance with Public Law 101-630, 25 USC § 3201 and Public Law 101-647, 42 USC § 13031.
• Pre‑hire drug screen and a mandatory six‑month probationary period for applicants not currently employed by the Tribes.

• Tribal employment application.
• Copies of relevant academic transcripts and training certificates.
• Copy of a current valid driver’s license.
• Any enrollment documentation for federally recognized Tribes (if applicable).
• If claiming Veteran's preference, a copy of the DD214 form.
• Letters of reference, cover letter, and/or resume may be submitted to complement the application packet.
• Failure to submit copies of the above documentation may result in disqualification from the screening process.

Pay rate: $21.31 to $24.49 per hour, including benefits.
