A Day in The Life of a CDL Truck Driver

As a CDL Truck Driver you will be responsible for transporting cargo to and from specified destinations. You will prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. Must have a  satisfactory  driving record. Must have CDL Classification/Certification. Requires applicable truck driver license for state.

• Drive a truck with capacity up to three tons and usually six wheels to transport materials
• Load, secure, verify, and unload cargo
• Deliver materials to locations designated by the customer
• Obtain customer’s signature for proof of delivery and help to unload truck
• Perform the duties of Warehouse Associate when not driving the truck and making deliveries

Education & Experience

High school degree or equivalent required

Must have a valid CDL License

2 years required of truck driving experience

Skills & Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to be on your feet for extended periods

Vision -

near, far, night

Ability to detect or tell differences between sounds varying in pitch and loudness

Ability to quickly respond (with hand, finger, foot) to signals (sound, light, picture) when it appears
