Temporary Position Overview
This is a temporary position not to exceed 6 months. The purpose of this position is to unload, load, receive, store, issue, stage, deliver, ship and inventory materials, tools, supplies and equipment for power plant work. The position supports both internal and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction, cost‑effective services, and maximum availability of generation. The position requires daily interaction with plant personnel and vendors while supplying warehouse materials.
It involves the use of computer based systems and operation of radio frequency equipment, forklift and other material handling equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels of materials and consumables, performing routine clerical and computer tasks, and ensuring safe work practices by being alert for hazards and working to prevent accidents. Dependable, responsible, and with basic math skills is required, along with regular attendance and diligent work habits.
Job Functions
- Loads and unloads trucks and moves materials, tools, equipment and supplies to and from site warehouse and staging areas using forklifts.
- Accepts materials returned or removed from service.
- Receives, unpacks, identifies, inspects, marks and stores materials, tools, supplies and equipment. Issues or stages requested materials, tools, supplies and equipment, and maintains appropriate records. Where applicable, takes samples of received material requiring tests and forwards them to laboratory.
- Prepares material, tools, supplies and equipment inventories. Visually inspects tools for safety requirements, completeness of accessories and operability upon receipt. Recognizes minimum requirements and identifies shortages and reorders internally as required.
- Prepares material, tools, supplies and equipment for shipment and prepares documents. Prepares and stages material for scrap or salvage as directed.
- Receives materials returned or removed from service and makes the appropriate determination for usable, reconditioning or scrap.
- Performs routine clerical and computer tasks in support of primary duties as required.
- Works with plant personnel and procedures to assure control of tools and materials for storage and field use at CSES.
- Operates equipment such as forklifts, platform trucks and automobiles to transport tools, material, and equipment to the plant.
- Must be dependable, willing to accept responsibility, performs basic math functions.
- Regular attendance and diligent work habits required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Valid Drivers’ License
- Prior warehouse/inventory experience
