Job Description
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Operate all equipment.
- Prepare product.
Orientation and training provided on the job.
Communication SkillsAbility to comprehend and give correct written instructions. Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions / SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator). Must be able to make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders. Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed. Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Work ConditionsExposure:
Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas. Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside. Fumes from food odors. Exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler. Hot surfaces/tools from over 500 degrees or higher.
Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Physical demands include standing, walking, delivery, sitting, lifting, carrying, driving, pushing, climbing, stooping/bending, crouching/squatting, reaching, and hand tasks.
- Standing: Most tasks performed from a standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile “bricks” with linoleum in some food process areas. Height of work surfaces is between 36” and 48”.
- Walking: Short distances and durations. Delivery personnel must travel between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations.
- Delivery: Deliver pizzas within a designated area; several deliveries may be made per shift.
- Sitting: Paperwork normally completed at an office desk or table.
- Lifting: Bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds, 3’ x 1.5”) are unloaded with a hand truck and stacked on shelves up to 72” high.
- Carrying: Large cans (≈3 lbs 7 oz) and occasional pizza sauce (≈30 lbs) are carried. Trays of dough (≈12 lbs each) carried three at a time over short distances.
- Pushing: Trays on dollies (24–30”) require up to 7.5 pounds of force; trays may also be pulled.
- Climbing: Infrequent navigation of stairs or ladders to change signs, wash walls, or perform maintenance. Delivery may require five or more flights of stairs.
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist is required at the assembly station (≈40‑45 seconds at a time, repeated throughout the day). Also occurs at the front counter during stocking.
- Crouching/Squatting: Performed occasionally for stocking shelves and cleaning low areas.
- Reaching: Continuous reaching up, down, and forward; reaching above 72” to control ovens or change signs; down to scoop cornmeal or wash dishes; forward for ingredients, cleaning, or phone calls.
- Hand Tasks: Continuous eye‑hand coordination. Frequent use of forearms and wrists for shaping dough; manipulation of pizza peel, rolling cutter, and cardboard pizza boxes. Must grasp cans, phone, cutter, peel, and boxes.
Team members may be required to use pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel.
