Position Summary
Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA), an innovative, Jr-K–12, independent day school in northern New Jersey with a strong national reputation, seeks a Development Coordinator in the Development Department. This is a full-time position beginning late-summer / fall 2026. The Coordinator is a key member of the Development Department, reporting to the Director of Advancement Services to bolster organizational efficacy through the management of the Department’s administrative needs.
This role is primarily focused on maintaining the momentum of our fundraising efforts and providing administrative support and donor services.
Reports to: Director of Advancement Services
Responsibilities- General Office Coordination:
Support the overall function and operations of the Development & Constituent Engagement department through key administrative projects. - Gift Processing & Maintenance:
Timely data entry, gift processing, and development of acknowledgment letters, tax receipts, and stewardship communications in accordance with IRS regulations. Support the Director of Advancement Services in maintaining the donor database (Raiser’s Edge), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and security. Complete cross-system constituent updates by managing ongoing record hygiene. - Donor Communications & Stewardship:
With guidance from the Director of Advancement Services, support a seamless donor experience through effective communication, recognition, and impact reporting. Support the Director of Development and departmental staff to develop and maintain donor stewardship and cultivation plans, tracking touchpoints and engagement. Prospect Research:
Support donor cultivation activities and major gift prospecting efforts. Event Support:
Support events and constituent engagement with registration process, nametags, day-of event support, and event reporting needs. - Assume other duties as assigned.
- Direct experience with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, database systems, and Google Workspace environment. Preferred experience with Constant Contact, Give Campus, Research Point, and Live Alumni. Possess outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Exhibit a positive, collaborative "can-do" attitude and a commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Show a willingness to work as a collaborative member of the Development team.
- Comfortable with digital transformation and new fundraising technologies.

The salary range for this position is $50,000-$80,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience.
