The STEM+ Explorers Summer Program offers an inspirational enrichment experience — not summer school or academic acceleration — where students deepen curiosity and creativity through hands-on learning.
This role focuses on teaching the Experimental Techniques strand, guiding students through authentic lab investigations in physics, chemistry, environmental science, and biology. Each week, students will act as scientists: asking testable questions, designing experiments, making careful measurements, and analyzing data to draw conclusions, while learning essential safety practices in each discipline.
Strand Overview:
Experimental Techniques:
- Week 1:
Physics — Use timers, motion detectors, and force sensors to investigate motion, forces, and energy. - Week 2:
Chemistry — Explore states of matter, physical properties, and separation techniques. - Week 3:
Environmental Science — Collect samples, make field measurements, and model complex systems. - Week 4:
Biology — Practice experimental design and use tools such as scales and microscopes to study living systems.
