Manager, Hospitality ​/ Hotel ​/ Catering

Stout NYC Hospitality Group consists of a dozen owner-operated bars/restaurants throughout New York City. Our mission is to provide authentic, accessible, desirable spaces for people seeking meaningful connections with friends, family, and colleagues. With specific attention to the guest experience and our food and drinks programs, our aim is to create a true home for the public to come as they are.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Service Manager to oversee day-to-day food & beverage service at The MC Hotel in Montclair, NJ. The MC Hotel has three venues--Allegory, a breakfast, lunch, and dinner restaurant;
Splendid, a rooftop bar; and a banquets & catering operation that hosts events of all sizes.

• Manage daily operations including cleanliness, organization, revenue opportunities and staffing
• Provide exceptional guest service, thereby setting the standard for all employees
• Train, coach and develop all front-of-house employees through ongoing feedback and the establishment of performance expectations
• Ensure restaurant and bar is in complete compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
• Meeting and greeting customers and organizing table reservations.
• Organizing and supervising the shifts of hourly front of house staff
• Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
• Work cooperatively with other hotel departments, including front desk, events/sales, housekeeping, engineering, etc.
• Ensure strong execution of private events in the hotel's various venues and spaces

• At least 1 year of restaurant management experience in a high-volume setting
• Experience working in a multi-venue establishment preferred
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Good understanding of useful computer programs (Toast, Open Table, Harri, Canva)
• Experience running and managing banquet & catering events, preferably in a hotel environment
• Availability to work nights and weekends
