Rotating shift, full-time Maintenance Stationary Engineer position in Montclair, NJ.

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000‑square‑foot facility offering latest medical programs, cutting‑edge technology, patient‑focused care, 1,200+ employees, and a 27‑bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities- Oversee the boiler and chiller plant, including monitoring of chemicals.
- Operate and monitor two high‑pressure boilers and associated chemicals in boilers and cooling towers.
- Operate three chillers, handle refrigeration and water cooling adjustments and maintenance.
- Monitor chilled water pumps, chemical pumps, and other pumps in the boiler plant.
- Monitor valves, piping, and filters.
- Record readings and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Analyze system operations, diagnose malfunctions, take corrective action.
- Perform preventive maintenance on base building and critical equipment, assemble tools and supplies as needed.
- Complete maintenance task sheets and report any supply or equipment shortages to management.
- Perform work with minimal disruption and clean up immediately.
- Maintain tools and order supplies for installation and repairs.
- Maintain logs, document equipment repairs, close work orders, report time accurately, and communicate with management.
- Comply with department policy for safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Assist other mechanics and operators with building and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain all mechanical and electrical equipment in the boiler plant.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience.
- Experience with chillers and boilers required.
- Blue Seal required to maintain boilers and chillers.
- Skilled in using tools and machinery for the position.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.
- Team player with oral and written communication skills.
- Organized with paperwork and file system maintenance.
- Ability to lift 50 lb.
- Strong leadership skills and follow‑up on work orders timely.
Rate of pay based on experience and education; may include differentials and call pay for the role.
