- Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting‑edge technology, and patient‑focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
This RN Residency Program offers a 12-week intensive training based in our Med/Surg units including Post‑Op, Ortho, and General Medical.
Position Details- Full-time role with varied shifts during training and transitioning to night shift after residency completion.
As a part of Mountainside’s Registered Nurse Residency Program, you will successfully learn and be able to complete the following:
- Coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
- Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
- Collect patient’s health data.
- Analyze assessment data in determining patient problems.
- Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
- Develop a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
- Implement interventions identified in the plan of care.
- Evaluate patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes.
- Assist with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplines.
- Delegate task to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing.
- Conduct discharge planning, assisting the patient/significant others to obtain knowledge about illness, injury prevention, and teaching.
- Maintain confidentiality with all information.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Current valid New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License or will obtain by August 2026.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
